Course Outline
Day 1
Implement Lite Touch Deployment together with WDS and ImageX, for both client and
server operating systems - Windows XP SP3 , Windows Vista SP1, Windows Server
2003 R2 SP2 and Windows Server 2008. Advanced Sysprep handling, working with
answer files using WSIM (Windows System Image Manager). Driver Management,
creating hardware independent images. We work with MUI and Language packs, and assigning applications
as part of the reference image. We also go into Windows Deployment Services (WDS).
Throughout the day you will be given lots of tips & tricks to make your deployment solution even better.
Day 2
Deploying Windows XP SP3 and Windows Vista SP1 with SCCM 2007. Installing and
configuring Zero Touch Installation (ZTI). We
will go in depth in the various SCCM deployment components, including techniques
for troubleshooting. We work with dynamic assignment of applications, per computer, per hardware,
per location, per role and learn how to extend the application assignment rules.
Day 3
Advanced customization of Windows PE 2.1, components, drivers, etc. Using the
new tools in WAIK 1.1 (Windows Automated Installation Kit). We work with pkgmgr, images, peimg,
copype, drvload, WinRE (Windows Recovery Environment). We dive deep into Vista and Server 2008 driver
ranking and how to avoid common isssues.
