Mastering Microsoft Deployment

 

You will learn how to master the latest deployment technologies from Microsoft, the Microsoft Deployment ToolKit (formerly BDD 2007), including powerful tools and guidelines to automate deployment of Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows Server 2003 and Windows Server 2008
We will drill deep into the Lite Touch and and Zero Touch components, configuring deployment for SCCM 2007 in areas regarding handling operating systems, applications, device drivers, user settings etc.
This Lab is set in an realistic corporate environment including Windows Server 2003/2008, Windows 2000/XP/Vista, clients etc.

You will learn how to build, from scratch to finish, a deployment solution based on Microsoft Deploymnt (formerly BDD 2007)
You will learn how to:

  • Use the new tools in WAIK 1.1 (Windows Automated Installation Kit)
  • Use Lite Touch Deployment together with WDS and ImageX, both client and server operating systems
  • Automate deployment of XP- and Vista-clients with SCCM 2007
  • Install and configure Zero Touch Installation (ZTI)
  • Advanced customization of Windows PE 2.1, device drivers, etc
  • Create answer files for scripted installations via WSIM (Windows System Image Manager) and  advanced Sysprep handling
  • Customize USMT 3.0.1 to support additional applications, data and user settings

We will drill deep into the components of Microsoft Deployment (Zero Touch Installation, ZTI) and show you how to extend functionality of SCCM 2007 in areas regarding handling applications, device drivers, user settings etc.
Additionally, we will share with you

  • Tips and trix for maintaining your master machines and keeping master images to an absolute minimum.
  • How you can handle the different hardware specific device drivers including routines for automatic detection of hardware
