[SWE] Kubernetes are new mainframe - and mainframe supports microservices. Yes, you heard that right! We compare two techniques that seem very far apart. They both provide scalability, a high level of automation, batch execution, and containerization. But what happens when a vulnerability is introduced in a container? Is it enough to try to achieve a secure infrastructure or is it wise to secure and implement detection capabilities even from a software point of view?
We discuss what is required to manage advanced infrastructure, the advantages, and disadvantages of specialization or (Sec) DevOps. Of course, we also offer some juicy attack demos. Our experts Alexander Andersson and Davide Girardi will show how to exploit vulnerabilities in Kubernetes podcasts as well as in containers running in zCX on a mainframe.
Key Learnings
- Learn to identify risks with containers.
- Learn how legitimate functionality can be used by threat actors.
- Learn defense-in-depth for container environments.
- Whether you have mainframe computers or Kubernetes: security is based on the same principles.
