Join our mission towards a safe digital future
Apply for this jobDo you want to be at the forefront of protecting our society against cyber threats? We are looking for a Senior Network Security Engineer to team up with the most dedicated team of cyber specialists in our Secure Infrastructure domain.
About Truesec – A Leading Cybersecurity Company
Since 2005, Truesec has been a native cybersecurity company, driven by one single purpose: Creating safety and sustainability in a digital world by preventing cyber breach and minimizing impact.
Over the years, we’ve earned the trust of organizations worldwide and gained a strong reputation internationally. Our team consists of dedicated specialists covering the entire spectrum of cybersecurity – with capabilities in Predict, Prevent, Protect, Respond, and Recover.
Today, we employ around 400 employees – and as cybercrime grows, we need to grow. To support that goal, we are now looking for a Senior Network Engineer who wants to create advanced security solutions in our Secure Infrastructure Domain.
Secure Infrastructure
Looking at the actual threat landscape today, it’s more important than ever to design and build infrastructure solutions that incorporate correct and relevant security features. The team works closely together using their combined knowledge and experience gathered from different projects and Incident Response cases to help our customers stay ahead of the threat actors. We continuously help customers improve their security posture within cloud, data center, endpoint management, identity, M365, and networking.
The Role
Currently at Truesec, we have only a few dedicated experts in network security. The demand from our customers is higher than what we can deliver, which is why we’re now looking to expand. The role is versatile: you will help customers improve their network security through reviews, design, and implementation—and you may also support incident response engagements when network expertise is needed. Since we are a small specialist group, we want you to help us grow the area further and drive customer dialogue forward.
In this role, you’ll also support customers in Operational Technology (OT) and industrial environments—helping them strengthen security across plant networks and other production-critical systems. You understand the unique requirements of OT (availability, safety, long lifecycle, and change constraints) and can translate them into pragmatic architectures for segmentation, remote access, monitoring, and secure operations in close collaboration with IT, operations, and engineering stakeholders.
-
Conducting workshops on how to segment and micro-segment customer networks for better security, including guidance on prioritization and implementation.
-
Performing Network Security Reviews from an attacker’s perspective—covering areas such as network design, segmentation, firewall logging quality, management and hardening of network equipment, patch/upgrade planning, account management, monitoring, remote access solutions, and external exposure.
-
Designing secure network architectures and improvements based on real-world learnings from incident response cases and the current threat landscape.
-
Supporting incident response work where network visibility, containment, and secure recovery require deep network security expertise.
Your Potential Background
We believe you’re the person people turn to when there are network problems or incidents. You can explain the trade-offs across vendors and choose the best solution for each customer (vendor agnostic). You have deep network security experience and can turn requirements into secure, practical designs—hands-on when needed, but equally comfortable advising stakeholders and delivering clear, actionable recommendations.
Required Skills:
We’re looking for a senior, hands-on network security engineer who can take ownership from assessment to implementation. You combine deep technical network skills with a security mindset, and you can communicate findings and recommendations in a way that enables real change.
Hands-on network security experience (design, hardening, and operations).
-
Strong troubleshooting across routing/switching and core services (ACLs, NAT, VPN, DNS/DHCP).
-
Firewall expertise: policy design/review, least-privilege, logging strategy, and change governance.
-
Experience performing network security reviews and turning findings into prioritized recommendations.
-
Ability to design pragmatic improvements (segmentation, secure remote access, and network visibility).
-
Vendor agnostic (our different customers use different network vendors)
-
Ability to apply network security principles in OT/industrial environments, balancing security with availability and safety requirements.
-
Experience designing segmentation between IT and OT (zones/conduits), including secure remote access for vendors and maintenance.
-
Strong approach to OT network visibility: logging and telemetry design, asset discovery, and monitoring in environments with limited ability to install agents.
Bonus Skills:
-
Segmentation/micro-segmentation experience (workshops, design, and implementation planning).
-
Cloud network security experience (AWS/Azure/GCP).
-
Threat hunting/investigations using network logs/telemetry; IR support and containment.
-
OT/industrial network security exposure (e.g., Purdue model, zones & conduits, and common OT constraints).
-
Familiarity with OT protocols and standards (e.g., Modbus, OPC UA, DNP3, IEC 62443) and how they impact segmentation, inspection, and monitoring strategies.
-
Relevant certifications and strong report writing.
-
Experience with multiple firewall vendors and secure remote access solutions.
Due to the sensitivity in our assignments, we require Swedish citizenship, citizenship in an EU coutnry, or a Swedish work permit.
