In less than a year, the Truesec IAM team supported SSC Space (formerly Swedish Space Corporation) in implementing SailPoint Identity Security Cloud (ISC). The project delivered a modern Identity Governance capability that strengthened security, improved access control, and supported SSC Space regulatory requirements in a highly regulated space and defense environment.

Truesec is well known for its cybersecurity expertise and Managed Detection & Response services (MDR). The IAM Implementation Project
SSC Space objective was to establish a secure, scalable, and user centric IAM capability that could protect critical systems, integrate with existing platforms, and support daily operations without losing governance or control.
The solution provides a streamlined approach to access management and a solid technical and organizational foundation for future growth. As part of the initiative, SSC Space significantly strengthened its security posture in line with NIST SP 800 171.
From Strategy to Operational Identity Governance
A key focus of the project was the design and implementation of robust and practical Identity Governance and Administration (IGA) capabilities. The work is centered on standardizing IAM processes while increasing automation and transparency.
SSC Space now benefits from centralized identity lifecycle management that covers three separate identity populations: employees, external users, and nonhuman identities.
Together, we implemented policy‑driven access to minimize wait-time and manual action for pre-approved accesses, least‑privilege principles to ensure compliance and security, and auditable workflows to ensure automated functions could also be monitored and reviewed. The improved logging and reporting that were built into the solution provide the required level of control and traceability.
Delivery in a Complex Environment
The project was delivered through a structured, workshop‑driven approach that addressed both technical and organizational requirements. Truesec and SSC Space worked closely through design workshops, training sessions, and Q&A forums to ensure alignment and long-term ownership.
Truesec’s identity security engineers led the technical implementation while enabling SSC Space internal teams throughout analysis, design, testing, and rollout. The IGA implementation was closely linked to SSC Space parallel deployment of a new HR system, which was critical for automated identity lifecycle management. As dependencies and timelines evolved, the delivery plan was continuously adjusted.
The project was delivered in phases, focusing initially on establishing a stable technical foundation and system integrations, followed by the implementation of identity lifecycle management and attribute synchronization.
After a technical go live before the summer period, the platform reached full functional go live in early September 2025.
Results and Business Value
SSC Space now operates a scalable, future ready Identity and Governance (IGA) platform that supports regulatory compliance activities, strengthens access control, and provides a reliable foundation for secure business growth.
The project shows how modern IAM can be delivered in practice – through strong governance, adaptive execution, and close collaboration between security, IT, and the business—turning identity into a true business enabler.
Today, SSC Space is one of several customers using Truesec’s Support and Maintenance service. The service provides ongoing support for the implemented platform and access to experienced SailPoint engineers and architects who work with SailPoint platforms daily and bring deep expertise in the area.
