As part of Truesec’s Secure Development team, our Application Security specialists deliver hands-on AppSec workshops, educate organizations in secure coding and DevSecOps, and take on long-term assignments as integrated team members who build secure solutions from the ground up. The Role

As a Senior Application Security Engineer at Truesec, you’ll work closely with diverse clients to strengthen their development organizations by delivering tailored technical solutions. Your role includes assessing systems for vulnerabilities, conducting code reviews, and guiding clients in secure development practices. You’ll advise on risk, lead threat modeling sessions, and facilitate workshops to elevate security awareness. Continuous learning is encouraged through ongoing training and industry events, ensuring you stay at the forefront of cybersecurity. Your Potential Background

Application security is a diverse field, and we welcome candidates from a wide range of backgrounds. You might be an application security engineer experienced in threat modeling, vulnerability assessment, code review, or secure software development. Perhaps you’re a developer passionate about security, familiar with secure coding practices, input validation, access control, or cryptography. You may have hands-on experience with web application firewalls or other security technologies.

If you’re a penetration tester, your expertise in identifying and exploiting vulnerabilities to demonstrate their business impact is highly valued. Alternatively, you might be an information security professional with a strong interest in secure software development, skilled in designing and implementing security policies and controls.

We believe your previous experience should include:

• DevSecOps and secure coding practices

• Software architecture and design

• Programming skills in one or more languages, such as Java, C#, C/C++, Python, JavaScript, or Go

Bonus experience:

• Cryptography, authentication and authorization

• OAuth 2, OpenID Connect, JWT

• Distributed systems, Docker, Kubernetes

• Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)

• Threat modeling and security assessments

• Penetration testing

• SAST/DAST tools

• Vulnerability management

Due to the sensitivity of our work, we require Swedish citizenship, citizenship in an EU country, or a Swedish work permit.
