AI Lead Engineer

We are now looking for an AI Lead Engineer—a hands‑on technical lead who will guide our engineering teams through the shift toward AI‑assisted development while upholding Truesec’s high standards for security, compliance, and craftsmanship.

About the Role

As an AI Lead Engineer, you will bridge traditional software engineering practices with emerging AI‑enabled methodologies. You’ll evaluate and operationalize AI‑powered development tools, define safe usage patterns, build internal frameworks, and contribute directly to our codebases to understand real‑world workflows.

Your work will help shape how Truesec engineers adopt AI responsibly—enhancing productivity without compromising security, quality, or compliance.

This is a highly impactful role where you collaborate closely with engineering teams, security specialists, architects, and leadership.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

• Evaluate AI‑based coding tools for technical fit, security, compliance, and enterprise readiness.

• Build frameworks, guidelines, and documentation that define responsible AI usage across engineering.

• Curate and maintain a set of approved AI assistants and usage patterns.

• Stay hands‑on with coding to understand real‑world AI‑assisted workflows and identify pragmatic improvements.

• Develop internal tools, reference implementations, and workflows to boost team productivity.

• Design integration patterns for incorporating AI into CI/CD, code review pipelines, and the broader SDLC.

• Define and enforce safety, testing, and quality guardrails for AI‑generated code.

• Support engineers as they adopt new AI‑assisted practices, addressing skills, craftsmanship, and role‑related concerns.

• Build knowledge repositories such as pattern libraries, playbooks, and case studies.

• Facilitate learning sessions, knowledge sharing, and best‑practice exchanges.

• Partner with compliance, security, and architecture teams to ensure adoption stays within enterprise guardrails.

• Advise engineering and product leadership on AI trends and long‑term technical implications.

What You Bring

We believe you will thrive in this role if you have:

• 7+ years of software engineering experience, including modern development practices and CI/CD.

• Hands‑on experience using AI coding assistants in production (e.g., prompt engineering, context management).

• Experience evaluating and introducing new technologies in enterprise environments.

• Familiarity with compliance‑driven settings (e.g., SOC 2, ISO 27001) and secure development practices.

• Strong ability to lead technical initiatives and mentor engineers without formal authority.

• Excellent communication and analytical skills, with a structured approach to problem‑solving.

• Experience in change management and helping teams adopt new ways of working.

• A background in security, identity, developer tooling, or technical transformation is a plus.

• Contributions to open‑source AI/dev‑tools or familiarity with standards such as MCP or LSP are highly valued.

• Relevant education or equivalent hands‑on experience.

Due to the sensitivity in our assignments, we require Swedish citizenship, citizenship in an EU country, or a Swedish work permit.
