Truesec Launches Eight Principles for Safe and Responsible AI in Cybersecurity

  • News

Truesec today announces the launch of its Eight Principles for Safe and Responsible AI, a unified governance framework designed to ensure that all AI development, deployment, and use within the company group is secure, ethical, and aligned with Truesec’s mission to prevent breaches and minimize their impact.

As organizations accelerate their adoption of AI, many are implementing new technologies without fully addressing the security and governance challenges that follow. At the same time, the geopolitical landscape is increasingly unstable, contributing to a continued rise in cyber threats. Threat actors, including both criminal groups and nation-states, are using AI to scale their attacks. Defenders must likewise learn and adapt to rapid advancements in methods and available tools to stay ahead.

With the largest Security Operations Center (SOC) in the Nordics and 24/7 monitoring capability, Truesec has a unique vantage point into how AI is reshaping our work to mitigate cyber risk and cybersecurity strategy.

“AI provides tremendous opportunities, but it also introduces risks when it is developed or deployed without clear governance,” says Levi Bergstedt, Chief Legal Officer at Truesec. “With these principles, we commit to ensuring that security, transparency, and human oversight are inherent in every AI system agent built, deployed, and used. In today’s threat landscape, responsible AI is not optional; it is fundamental.”

Truesec’s Eight Principles are now integrated into all AI-related work across the company:

  1. Purpose and Accountability
  2. Privacy by Design
  3. Security First
  4. Rapid Experimentation, Safe Data
  5. Transparency, Traceability, and Human Oversight
  6. Fairness and Bias Mitigation
  7. Lifecycle Management and Continuous Improvement
  8. Continuous Learning and Advancement

These principles reflect Truesec’s long-standing approach to secure innovation and provide a clear foundation for the responsible use of AI within cybersecurity.

“AI is already influencing both attackers and defenders,” Bergstedt adds. “Our principles ensure that the AI capabilities we introduce contribute to strengthening resilience and safeguarding society. The principles take effect immediately and apply across all Truesec operations in the Nordic region and globally.”
