Security Vetting Specialist

We are looking for a Security Vetting Specialist to join our dedicated Talent Acquisition team at Truesec. You will be part of the global People & Culture team and your focus in the role will be on performing security vetting interviews on candidates across all countries where Truesec operates.

The Role

As a Security Vetting Specialist focusing on security vetting within Truesec’s Talent Acquisition and People & Culture team, you play a key role in proactively protecting our organization and clients from insider threats by addressing the human element of cybersecurity. This role works closely with the Global Security & Compliance (GSC) function and other stakeholders to ensure that individuals with access to sensitive systems and data are trustworthy and that our security standards remain best-in-class.

Key responsibilities include:

• Conducting security vetting interviews to assess behavioral, psychological, and contextual risk factors to prevent insider threats such as sabotage, espionage, and data leaks.

• Evaluating digital footprints and online behavior as part of comprehensive background checks.

• Supporting compliance with regulatory and contractual requirements for personnel security.

• Promoting a culture of security awareness, accountability, and resilience across the organization.

Your Potential Background

Your background may vary, but we appreciate previous experience in security vetting, HR/recruitment, social services or law enforcement. Experience in the security sector, knowledge of protective security, background checks, and position analysis is meritorious. You should have strong analytical and critical thinking skills – the foundation of security work. The ability to distinguish the essential from the non-essential in large amounts of information, and to understand what could have security implications, is crucial. High integrity and the ability to handle confidential information are essential.

Required Skills:

• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills

• Experience in performing interviews or difficult conversations

• High integrity and ability to handle confidential information

• Excellent communication skills in both Swedish and English, written and spoken

Bonus Skills:

• Previous experience in performing security vetting interviews

• Understanding of different methods used by threat actors

• Experience in the security sector or protective security

• Knowledge of background checks

• Ability to present complex security issues clearly and concisely in formal settings

Due to the sensitivity of our assignments, we require Swedish citizenship, citizenship in an EU country, or a Swedish work permit.
